Sauerkraut and Smoked Beef Sausage Skillet

This sauerkraut and smoked sausage skillet is an easy, one-pan comfort food dinner. Smoky sausage and tangy sauerkraut come together in minutes—delicious served over creamy mashed potatoes or noodles.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 tbsb butter or olive oil
  • 1 32 oz jar sauerkraut, drained
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 onion thinly sliced optional
  • dash of salt
  • mashed potatoes for serving

Method
 

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter or oil.
  2. Add sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in onion and sauté until softened (if using).
  4. Add drained sauerkraut and season with black pepper and salt.
  5. Cover and cook for 10–15 minutes.
  6. Serve hot over mashed potatoes.
