Ingredients
  

  • 3-4 lb chuck roast
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tsp Knorr beef bouillon powder

Instructions
 

  • Place chuck roast in crock pot.
  • In a small bowl, mix water, beef bouillon, and brown gravy mix until combined.
  • Pour the mixture evenly over the roast.
  • Place butter on top of the roast.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 8–9 hours or HIGH for 5–6 hours.
  • Let rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with gravy.

Notes

  • For best results, cook on LOW for the most tender texture.
  • Slice the roast instead of shredding for a “prime rib” style presentation.
  • Skim excess fat from the gravy before serving if desired.
